Woodshop has been in development for a very long time. I really wanted this scent to go beyond just smelling like wood. I explored several different directions over the last few years, and am super happy with where I ended up. The scent opens with coffee and bourbon, because let's be honest, if your working with teenagers and power tools you probably need a lot of both (bourbon after hours of course). Then comes the woody notes, cedar, pine, and the scent of a fresh sheet of plywood. Hiding in the background imperceptible unless you know it's there is the scent of motor oil from the always nearby auto shop. The result is a very nice wearable woodsy scent with a surprising amount of depth.

The goal of our current base was to improve upon our original base in every way, (which was tough because our original base is very good) while keeping the price as low as possible. The result is an affordable shaving soap that easily creates a dense, protective, and thick lather. Where this base really shines though, is post shave feel. Your face will feel awesome after your shave regardless of if you choose to apply any other products. Of course we recommend pairing with our new aftershave formula.

Wonderful Scent

All of the individual components of Woodshop come together to make an overall wonderful scent. The soap base is really good and this is my favorite SBS scent to date. I recommend pairing it with the splash to make the scent longer lasting and a bit stronger. The first time that I used Woodshop I found myself sitting in my office at work thinking how good it smelled.

Evocative scent, top tier performance

I have quite a few scents from Summer Break, but Wood Shop is my absolute favorite. It comes off as a fresh and clean undoubtedly woody scent with just a hint of dirty (that subtle but realistic motor oil note) to keep things interesting. The coffee and bourbon facets come out a lot more in the splash to me so it's a great idea to grab the set for a slightly different scent experience. Actually the EdP is glorious as well so you might as well just spring for the full trifecta :)
SBS products never disappoint in the performance area either. The soap develops a dense and slick creamy lather and offer excellent protection and glide. 10/10 I would recommend this soap to anyone who enjoys complex woody scents.

Wonderful Woodsy Scent

Soap performance is excellent, both in terms of primary slickness and residual. When properly lathered the soap has the consistency of cool whip.

Wood shop is a fantastic woodsy scent that prominently features the scents of cedar and pine with supporting notes of coffee and bourbon. The slight sweetness of the bourbon provides a warmth and softness to balance out the cedar and pine. All of the notes blend well together to create a wonderful harmony that is perfect for fall and winter without being heavy or offensive. My wife finds the scent very pleasant and approves of this scent for use on date nights. Scent strength off the container is mid-strong and remains so even once lathered.

Post shave feel is also excellent as I've come to expect in other Summer Break products. The soap hydrates my skin well and leaves a soft and supple feeling even after the rinse.

Missed the head of the nail

Was waiting for this release the moment I saw the posting. Yet had to wait until Christmas. First the performance is very spot for on. Lathers well, good slickness for a smooth shave. However, Im not getting any of the pyramid of notes as described. Very light scent that is more powder-room scented and missing all the notes in the description. Actually I would go as far to say the wrong soap was poured into the container. Outside of the performance, very disappointed as this was my first summer break Soap in my collection (which is well over 100 soaps and aftershaves)
